Founded in 1969, the Impact Institute delivers vocational and adult education in a way that is unique in Indiana, using a competency-based curriculum approach and relying on student data and industry-driven standards for continuous improvement.

Established in 1991 and located in Kendallville, Freedom Academy offers courses across northeast Indiana. Freedom Academy’s Workforce Certification classes provide practical, relevant and customized instruction consistent with local industry skill expectations.

Northeast Indiana Works is a key local partner that oversees eleven WorkOne career centers, supports employers with recruitment and pre-screenings, and applications for state-funded employer training grants.

2022 will mark the launch of the iSMART Lab, a “smart factory” learning lab teaching the skills needed in today’s industrial environments using “industry 4.0” technologies. Multiple local educators will utilize the lab.

Manufacturing Experience Camp - are your students curious about work? Do they enjoy technology and hands-on activities? Bring them to the Technology Camp. Students will get the chance to explore advanced manufacturing technologies in a fun, interactive way—building skills and sparking curiosity for the future.
